Our mission is to provide accurate, timely and cost-effective pathology services to patients and physicians practicing at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute and its affiliates and to provide consultative services. We maintain the highest levels of quality to ensure the most accurate diagnostic services for both the patient and the attending physician. The Divisions of Anatomic Pathology and Hematopathology and Laboratory Medicine are committed to assisting the Cancer Center in its mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer.

We provide a full range of anatomic and clinical pathology testing, as well as consultation services to both inpatients and outpatients. Pathology members collaborate with other departments at the University of South Florida to provide a full academic curriculum for the university's medical students, residents, fellows and graduate students.

Pathology is organized into two distinct Divisions: Anatomic Pathology  and Hematopathology and Laboratory Medicine. The pathologists are all certified by the American Board of Pathology. The laboratory is accredited under the College of American Pathologists and is licensed by the state of Florida. The quality of work is continuously monitored by internal and external quality control programs, by participation in proficiency testing and by participation in hospital-wide quality improvement programs.
